Thermo controller ETC-1
ETC-1 - universal temperature controller with 3 relay outputs controlled by temperature sensors or internal clock.
Application fields of the device:
- Control of solar collector system
- Control of circulation pump in a heating system
- Water pipe heating (freeze protection) control
- Keeping the settled temperature in a room
- Alarm on temperature range exceed event
- Control of three-way valves
- Historical values of temperatures from 4 sensors
- Possibility to connect to GPRS modem for remote inspection of temperatures
Controller description
Power supply:
- Voltage: 5VDC (12VDC - optional)
- Current: < 300mA
- Internal fuse protects from short circuit or inverse polarity of power supply
Controller's outputs:
- Number of relays: 3
- Maximum voltage: 240VAC
- Maximum current: 10A (resistive load)
- LED indication of relay outputs.
Temperature measurement:
- Number of sensprs: 4
- Measurement range: -72...+127°C
- Sensors - NTC, PTC
- Measurement resolution 1°C
LOGing function:
- Period: 1,2,5,10,15,20,30,60 min.
- Number of records: 372
- Stored data: date, time, temperatures of all sensors, status of relays.
Other features:
- Real time clock and calendar (RTCC) with internal battery.
- RS232 interface to PC. Possibility to update firmware, configure and read status and LOG from controller (see screenshot below).
- LCD display [2x8]
- 5-way controlling button: “←” “↑” “→” “↓” “OK”
- DIN mounting.
- Possibility to adjust measurement circuits.
- Sound alarm in case of a short circuit or disconnection of temperature sensor. Later this event is permanently indicated on the LCD -
symbol "!" is fired near the number of temperature sensor.

Relay control programs
One of three programs can be selected for any relay:
1. Single sensor (Single). Relay is controlled by any single sensor temperature.
Relay ON:
a) select sensor number (1...4);
b) set temperature (-72...+127°C);
c) select when to switch relay on - higher or lower of selected temperature.
Relay OFF:
a) select sensor number (1...4);
b) settemperature (-72...+127°C);
c) select when to switch relay off - higher or lower of selected temperature.
2. Dual sensor (Dual). Relay is controlled by a difference of to selected sensors temperature.
Relay ON:
a) select the first temperature sensor (1...4);
b) select the second temperature sensor (1...4);
c) set temperature difference (-72...+99°C);
d) select when to switch relay on - higher or lower of selected temperature difference.
Relay OFF:
a) select the first temperature sensor (1...4);
b) select the second temperature sensor (1...4);
c) set temperature difference (-72...+99°C);
d) select when to switch relay off - higher or lower of selected temperature difference.
3. Internal clock (Time).
Relay on: set hour and minute.
Relay off: set hour and minute.
Note: in case of erroneous relay program settings (relay must be on and off at the same time) - controller keeps relay OFF.
Controller can control the load by multilpy programs at the same time (for e.g. keep different temperatures in day and night time). In this case
you need to connect relay outputs in parallel or/and in series dependent on proper functionality.
